Norman E. Thibault, PhD, LMFT
Norman Thibault, PhD, LMFT is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Association for Training on Trauma and Attachment in Children (ATTACh), a national and international coalition of parents, caregivers and professionals working to give all communities the support they need to make healing children more hopeful and more effective. Norm is a certified instructor of Attachment and Trauma-Focused Family Therapy. He is a former President of the Utah Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (UAMFT) and servedon their Board of Directors for eight years. He also served as a Field Trial Clinician in creating the current DSM-V. In 2012, Norm was the recipient of the UAMFT Distinguished Leadership Award for his service to therapists in Utah, and he was the 2017 Vilardi Humanitarian Award recipient of the American Adoption Congress. Norm is a Founding Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Three Points Center, a residential treatment facility exclusive to adopted adolescents and their families.

Stephen W. Porges, PhD
Stephen W. Porges, Ph.D. is a Distinguished University Scientist at Indiana University where he is the founding director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium in the Kinsey Institute. He is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina, and Professor Emeritus at both the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Maryland. He served as president of the Society for Psychophysiological Research and the Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences and is a former recipient of a National Institute of Mental Health Research Scientist Development Award. He is the originator of the Polyvagal Theory, a theory that emphasizes the importance of physiological state in the expression of behavioral, mental, and health problems related to traumatic experiences. He is the creator of a music-based intervention, the Safe and Sound Protocol ™ , which currently is used by approximately 3,000 therapists to improve spontaneous social engagement, to reduce hearing sensitivities, and to improve language processing, state regulation, and spontaneous social engagement. Dr. Porges is a founder of the Polyvagal Institute.
