Our venue is a modern hotel situated on a picturesque lake, 
surrounded by forest, just outside of Berlin. This landmark event will bring together Stephen Porges, Gabor Maté Deb Dana, and an exciting line-up of international and European experts, all presenting in English. Join the international polyvagal community for this unique 2.5-day event in Potsdam, Germany, where we will focus on topics including child and adolescent mental health, family relationships, and transgenerational trauma and the many applications of Polyvagal Theory.

Just outside Berlin, our event location in Potsdam is perched lakeside, surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery. The event schedule allows for plenty of time for networking, relaxing, and connecting with your fellow attendees.

Community and connection are a key part of your event experience.

When you register to attend in-person, you will have the opportunity to join a dedicated online group in the PVI Community App where you can share things like travel plans and ideas, arrange meet-ups or ride shares, or find dinner companions. 

 

In-person programming includes opportunities for collective embodiment practices, experiential felt-sense focusing with Jan Winhall, psychological safety support, and co-regulation.

We have gathered some of the best and brightest from around the globe to gather with us and share their work, research, and perspective on the topic of the modern family, specifically through a polyvagal lens.

Continuing Education Credits (CEs/ CEUs)

This event will provide 12 optional CEs for LMFTs, LMHCs, LCSWs, LPCCs, psychologists, and nurses for an additional cost of $65.

CE Policies & Guidelines

For in-person attendees:

In order to be eligible for CEs, you must attend all speaker presentation sessions on all days of this event; attendance will be monitored per SCA requirements.

For virtual/ online attendees:

In order to be eligible for CEs, you must attend all speaker presentation sessions on all days of this event in real time.* This means that you must be live on camera during the live stream of this event. Online attendance will be monitored at several points throughout the event per SCA requirements.

Learning Objectives 

At the end of the program, participants will be better able to…

• Assess client responses through identifying co-existing moments of grief and glimmers

• Apply an understanding of Polyvagal Theory to create an environment for clients that encourages safety and connection

• Utilize exercises designed to engage the neural circuits of a client’s Social Engagement System to improve clinical outcomes.

• Utilize practices to help clients increase the intergenerational transmission of wider windows of tolerance

• Describe the impact of racial identity as collective trauma

• Describe a neural process (neuroception) that evaluates risk in the environment and triggers adaptive neural circuits that promote either social interactions or defensive behaviors

• Explain the relationships between oxytocin and Polyvagal Theory

• Explain the essential role of Polyvagal Theory in the treatment of relational trauma

• Apply tools to help clients create a felt sense of safety to effectively address old wounds

• Assess the dissociation of intimacy in social engagement and in family relationships that originates from traumatic relational experiences that have not been integrated in development

• Utilize practical skills from Polyvagal Theory to support humanitarian workers responding to humanitarian crises in the field

Additional CE Information

 CE credits for psychologists are provided by the Spiritual Competency Academy (SCA) which is co-sponsoring this program. The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Spiritual Competency Academy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

• The California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFT license renewal for programs offered by sponsors of CE who are approved by the American Psychological Association.
• LCSW, LPCC, LEP and LMFTs, and other professionals from outside of California need to check with their state licensing board as to whether or not they accept credits from programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.
• SCA is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP16887) for licensed nurses in California. RNs must retain their certificate of attendance for 4 years after the course concludes. Nurses outside of California must confirm acceptance with their licensing boards.
